Quels sont les signes et les
symptômes de la grippe porcine A H1N1?

Les symptômes de la grippe porcine A
H1N1 sont similaires aux
symptômes de la grippe saisonnière.

La définition de cas suspect d’infection
par le virus de la grippe porcine A H1N1
pourrait donner une bonne idée  de la
probabilité que la personne soit infectée
par le virus de la grippe H1N1. Il faut
répondre aux 4 questions suivantes:

1. Avec-vous fait de la fièvre
   ? On entend par fièvre
   une température corporelle de >38 C.
2. Avez-vous de la toux?
3. Avez-vous au moins un des symptômes
   suivants: mal de gorge,
   douleur dans les articulations
   (arthralgie),
   douleurs musculaires (myalgies)
   ou fatigue extrême
   (prostration) qui pourrait être causé
   par la grippe?
4. Avez-vous été exposé
   au virus de la grippe porcine A
   H1N1 dans les 7 jours précédent
   le début des symptômes?
   Vous devez-répondre oui à au moins une
   des questions suivantes:

• Avez-vous voyagé?
• Avez-vous pris soin
  d’une personne qui a eu un prélèvement
  positif pour la grippe porcine A H1N1?
• Avez-vous vécu sous le même
  toit qu’une personne qui a eu
  un prélèvement positif pour la grippe

• Avez-vous eu un contact 
  direct avec des sécrétions
  respiratoires ou des liquides corporels
  d’une personne qui a eu un prélèvement

  laboratoire travaillant
  directement avec le virus de l’influenza
  humaine?
• Êtes-vous un travailleur de
  la santé exposé à des patients
  dans un milieu où une éclosion
  d’influenza A/H1N1 d’origine porcine est
  en investigation?
• Avez-vous un lien
  épidémiologique avec une
  grappe** nosocomiale. Une grappe désigne
  deux personnes ou plus (au moins une
  d’entre elles étant un cas probable ou
  confirmé) présentant une maladie
  respiratoire aiguë avec fièvre
  (température de > 38ºC) ou décédées
  d’une maladie respiratoire inexpliquée;
  ces cas sont détectés et la maladie doit
  être apparue chez tous ces patients dans
  un même intervalle de 14 jours, ou ils
  présentent un lien  épidémiologique.

Si vous avez répondu oui aux 4 questions
précédentes, vous présentez tous les
critères  correspondants à la définition 
d’un cas suspect de grippe porcine A H1N1.
Quel que soit le pays que vous habitez, si
vous correspondez à la définition d’un cas
suspect, il serait sage de suivre les

Parmi les autres symptômes de la grippe
porcine et saisonnière il y a aussi les maux
de tête, de l’écoulement et de la 
congestion nasale et des frissons. Un nombre
significatif de personnes infectées par le
virus de la grippe porcine A H1N1 ont aussi
rapporté avoir eu des vomissements et de la
diarrhée.

Aussi, comme avec la grippe saisonnière,
des complications peuvent
survenir comme des surinfections
bactériennes telles que les otites,
les bronchites et les
pneumonies. Parfois les
complications dégénèrent et la personne en
meurt.
